Quai Quest
A Cantonese staging of renowned playwright Bernard-Marie Koltès’ theatre text.
In an abandoned area far from the city center, separated by a river, stands an old warehouse left by the former port. The fallen businessman Koch and his assistant Monique attempt to enter the warehouse to end their lives. Koch, who jumped into the sea, is saved by Charles, a young second-generation immigrant. Charles’ parents, Cecile and Rodolfe, one critically ill and the other disabled, have wandered half their lives without receiving the blessings of this prosperous city. Their youngest daughter, Charles' sister Claire, is simultaneously attracted to and resisting the young Fak, desperately trying to grow up and leave the wasteland.
The untimely encounter of six people builds relationships based on various transactions. They are entangled in desire exchanges and have themselves become bargaining chips, convinced that only by being scarred can they survive...
