The Second Year of Jianfeng
A literary adaptation based on local author Chan Koon-chung’s political allegory "The Second Year of Jianfeng". The play retains the original's framework and fictional historical style, while drawing on contemporary European text influences. By creating a perspective of a China that never existed, Cattle Depot Theatre transforms into a multi-channel historical space, playing with the contingency of history and time between reality and fiction.
