The Attic
For the first time On & On extends the new writing exploration to Asian text, collaborating with Yakusha Theatre to present the award-winning play, “The Attic”, by the renowned Japanese playwright Yoji Sakate.
“The Attic” is a compact space, a "nano house" measuring 1.8 by 1.2 by 0.95 meters. A mysterious suicide and an investigative journey connect attic owners worldwide. With 56 characters played by 8 actors, the story weaves through different times and places within this small setting. Director Lam Pui-lim transform the Cattle Depot Theatre with “The Attic” to explore existence, loneliness, and freedom through black humour.
